Student Writing: Thank You

I haven't posted a student writing in a while. I guess I haven't saved anything recently. But today one of my 12th grade students caught me after class. He asked me a question and then said, "Oh, this is for you." as he pulled a note out of his pocket. I was curious to what was inside, but he was already talking to some friends.
